Default Fog lamps not working

99 Ram 1500 4x4, 5.9.

My fog lamps are not working..

I replaced both bulbs, but still nothing..

Is the only fuse for the fog lamps under the hood? It looks fine, and so does the relay.

I checked the in-cab fuses and didn't see one for fog lamps.

The fog lamp light on the switch lights up when you pull it out, and from what I have heard that means the switch is ok..

Any ideas would be super-appreciated!!

Fogs will only come on with your low beams.

Check and see if you have power at pin 30 in the socket for the Fog lamp relay.

Headlamp switch provides the ground path for the fogs. But, looking at the wiring diagram..... something isn't quite kosher, as it appears that the FL relay only gets power to the coil (that actually makes it switch on.) when the highbeams are on..... Which strikes me as exactly backward.

Fuse G is the one that actually provides power to the lamps.

Which is pin 30? >_>

Fuse G? Im just going off the sticker on the fuse box under the hood...there's one that says fog lamps.

There isn't one for fog lamps in the fuse box in cab.

There are two fuses involved here, one is Fuse F, which is just for the indicator light, (and prolly some other stuff.....) Fuse G provides power to the switched side of the relay, that actually powers the fogs themselves. I don't know if they are labeled on the cover or not......

If you pull the relay, and look on the bottom side, the terminals will be labeled. (albeit, not exactly easy to read......) Figger out which one is pin 30, and then figger out which cavity that one goes into in the PDC. That should have 12 volts with the ignition on. (maybe even with the ignition off......)

Pin 87 runs off to the headlight switch, which should have continuity to ground (zero resistance) with the headlamp switch set so the fogs should be on.

I think you are correct. Fuse F appears to be labeled "Park Lamps"......

In the row of little fuses, beside the fuel pump relay, starting at the top (toward the center of the truck) is fuse A, then they go in alphabetical order coming toward you.

Awesome, thank you.

When I get home Ill check if that fuse is blown...

If it was blown...would any of my other lights not be working? Because everything else works fine...high beams, blinkers, low beams..etc..

Just don't wana get my hopes up un-necessarily..

check the fuse and take the relay and switch it out with a known good relay, the fogs come on with the parking lamps, and cannot be on with the brights on.

If still nothing look under front bumper as there is a connecter there and make sure its nice and tight, and if thats all good pop the switch out and make sure your gettin power from the switch

Switch provides ground path. Circuit is always powered.

Grrr.. This issue is making me crazy... Fuse "F" Is labeled as Spare...theirs no fuse there...I dont have a fuse labeled Park Lamps.

The connector under the truck is securely closed. ..None of the fuses are burnt out...

Swapped with horn relay to make sure the fog lamp relay is working...

NOTHING
