Have a chat with some of the local metal dealers. You might be able to get a piece of plate steel, that you can bolt to the mount, and then bolt the bar to that.....
he was thinking on the same lines of that..he was going to see if someone at an autoshop can do it, or atleast someone can give him something that he can put in between the space to connect the 2..its just very annoying...
Yeah, it would be rather nice if the parts that said they fit your truck, would actually FIT your truck..... I really don't think that's too much to ask....
You could go by a scrap yard and get a piece of 3" channel then take it by a welding shop and have them cut it down to the right size for both sides then weld a plate to one end for the bolt to go through.
Thanks for all the advice. We are in the process of moving and once we get moved, maybe this weekend, i will look around for welding shops/scrap metal yards. there are other things that im also gonna try. its just annoying as hell when they say its made for your vehicle and it not fit..i will give an update once we can get things going. On the trans and nerf bars..
The metal recycling place in my town charges 15 cents a pound for steel, your area should be too much higher, if any higher at all. So you should be looking at a dollar or two for a chunk of steel channel or a piece of an I beam that is the right width.
