It gets pretty uncomfortable trying to take out the 1,000,000 screws in the dash when you can't feel your digits.
A cordless bit driver will be your friend when removing the 1,000,000,000 screws that hold the dash together.

Funny story.... speaking of coons.....

When I worked at the chevy dealer, I had a customer come and with the complaint that it was extremely difficult to turn his steering wheel to the right..... I drove the truck around the lot once, and by god, he was right. Turning left wasn't a problem, turning right was a real drag. (including turning the wheel back from a left turn...) That, and it smelled terrible..... (and this was a pretty new truck....) If felt for all the world like something was binding. Figgering I would have quick look, I popped the hood, and there was the problem, plain as day.

A coon had crawled up into the engine compartment.... and died...... he was wedged between the steering shaft, and the drivers side exhaust manifold.... (which accounted for the horrid smell...) I grabbed some gloves, removed the dead coon, had the customer drive the truck, and all was right with the world again.

When I first bought my truck, I had a nasty smell as well. It turned out to be that the previous owner was right when he said it had been sitting for a while. Some birds nested in the place where it sucks air in and they had died. Eww.

Nothing. He was a good customer, and bought a new truck almost every year. (not to mention the rest of his family also came to the dealership for vehicles.....)

I got a ten dollar tip though.
