Default Releasing pressure on fuel system???

I am doing the plenum pan replacement. I get thru the first 6 steps of the removal and it now says to release the pressure in the fuel system. And that procedure involves running the engine.....I JUST TOOK THE DARN THING APART!!

Is there another way to depressurize the system? How are you guys doing this?

Got the schraeder valve on the drivers side fuel rail? If ya do, just use a rag, and a screwdriver to push in the valve. (the rag is to soak up the gas.)

If you don't, put the release tool around the fuel line fitting, wrap the rag around it, and separate the line from the rail. Let the rag soak up the gas. (if any...)

I always just pull the rails with the fuel line still attached and move it out of the way

If you pull the line off of the rail, don't forget to take off the gas cap FIRST.

No pics at the moment, But, if you look at the fuel rail on the drivers side, about two thirds of the way back, there should be the valve. (and it will prolly have a cap on it.) Some trucks just didn't have one though......

I see no schrader valve. The only thing I see on the rail is a metal 90-degree piece attaching to the middle of the drivers side rail.

You mean that you pop the rail and injectors off of the intake without depressurizing the fuel line yet? I just plan on tieing them back out of the way, anyhow.

That'll work for ya. Just pop the injectors out of the intake, which can be fun..... Don't break the fuel rail...... should be good to go.
