best bang for your buck.....dynamite

Cheapest intake thats flows more than stock, 14x3- its anywhere from 20-100 bucks, and you need to make an s-bolt or buy one

Pros-
flows alot
unrestricted
looks cool
easy install
opens up passenger fender

Cons-
tight fit
NOT offroad worthy(gets dirty quick causing restricted flow)
NOT mudding worthy(gets mud caked on and water can get through some filters)
can suck in water with a cheap filter(whenever your going through deep puddles)
hot air not cold

If you plan on mudding/offroading/going through water
Look at spectre or a similar CAI- $80-$150

yea those 14x3's do look cool and obviously can flow alot of air, i want something that thats low maintence as well. i looked at the spectre and there not really a cold air intake, neither is the 14x3 cuz they suck the hot air in from the engine department, i like the fact that the k&n actually gets the air from right next to the radiator so obviously its going to be cooler air. which gives the best performance and fuel economy

The Spectre pulls cold air through the fender, and it still has a box to seperate it from the engine bay heat. Really there's not that much difference from grabbing the air out of the fender, or from the side of the radiator. With K&N, personally I feel you're paying mostly for the name.

Your right. But depending on where you live the flow of the 14x3 will out weigh the heat that it brings in. However, if you want a true CAI, look into the S&B.

Technically, the stock system is a CAI..... as it already draws air from that location. Granted, it isn't the best design in the world, but, simply putting a freer flowing filter in it would do some good, at a fraction of the price.

I still think that s&b intake would benefit from a larger opening for incoming air. Were it mine, I would cut a hole in the front panel of that filter box and run a tube and scoop to the front of the engine bay next to the radiator.

That s&b looks pretty sweet, and would be a hell of alot easier to install than the K&N, im probably going to look into the s&b. Now where to find it for the cheapest
