Question Yet another governor pressure sensor, solenoid question.

Well i asked my instructor at my tech school if i should try to clean the gov. solenoid. but he said replacing the parts would be better. i already went to advanced auto (because their right up the street) and the filter change kit is like 12 bucks.. so no biggie. but they said they couldn't find the governor pressure sensor nor solenoid. he said i might have to get it from the dealership. witch is like blahhh. I'm sure there is another way to get one. but where do i look?

Any websites? stores? or am i stuck going to the dealership to get the new parts?

Thanks all,

~Tyler

P/s Ive been posting a lot about this damn trans of mine. maybe hopefully ill be able to post about me fixing the damn thing...

Not so very long ago, someone posted links to better parts, that were direct bolt-ins. I shoulda saved the links to those....

There are many companies that also sell them, that will be much cheaper than the dealership.

There are also 'upgrade' kits, to convert to gm style sensor/solenoid, but, those are a bit pricier.

What stores? Auto parts stores? They don't have them. That's why you were given a link to an online site. The only local place that should have them is a tranny shop. And if they don't know what you are talking about, don't ever bring your truck there for repairs .
