The two I have seen (on Jegs, and Summit Racing, which may be the same part....) are a direct replacement for the stock piece, and cat converter. Might have to use a coupler, or some such to connect it to the rest of the exhaust though. (or, it might just bolt right in....)

Biggest problem with changing them is due to high heat..... the heat promotes corrosion, so, the bolts like to break, instead of coming off like they should. Doesn't help they hang out on the underside of the truck either. If you have a torch handy, heating them up nice and red, and THEN taking them off usually works perfect. If you don't, treat them with chemicals for a couple days before trying to crack 'em loose.

Would I be able to still put on a cat with this y-pipe though? I really want to get rid of that useless waste of pipe, and I have to have a cat due to emittions.

The direct fit MagnaFlow includes the pipes from the exhaust manifold down to and including the cat.

I have a coupon from autoanything if you order from there, but make sure you get the right one for your year, the link above is for one that goes up to the year 2000 i believe. Once you find the right one, enter- LOYALTY at the checkout and i think you get like $30 off. hope it works out for you.
