Looks like im gonna have to get this sorted, I have noticed that its using quite a bit of oil. I imagine its going to be a nightmare to get in the UK but it'll be worth it!
The idea behind the PCV system is twofold. First, it evacuates all those nasty byproducts of combustion that make it past the rings from the crank case, which helps your oil last longer. Second, by drawing a light vacuum in the crank case, it actually helps the rings seal better, so you get less of the nasty blowbyproducts into the crank case in the first place. Not to mention the side benefit of less wasted power from the better ring seal.
