Yes you can pull them out. You will want to run a PCV on one side and a breather on the other.

I 've been having aftermarket breather problems also. Trying to fit an autozone type breather to my Mopar valve covers. I ordered the gromett kit and the damed thing didn't fit. I think silicone is my only answer. Stock covers have a pcv valve and a plug on the passengers side. A breather and an oil filler cap on the drivers side.

Hi guys, thanks for the help, its running an after marker mopar (top mounted) air filter at the minute with 2 K&N oil breather filters on the Mopar valve covers (one on each side).
I was just going to replace the two K&N oil breather filters with two new ones, as there certainly isnt any PCV valves here.
Anyone know the size of the fitments? Its dificult getting parts over to the UK so I'm simply looking at buying a universal filter that will fit.

The idea behind the PCV system is twofold. First, it evacuates all those nasty byproducts of combustion that make it past the rings from the crank case, which helps your oil last longer. Second, by drawing a light vacuum in the crank case, it actually helps the rings seal better, so you get less of the nasty blowbyproducts into the crank case in the first place. Not to mention the side benefit of less wasted power from the better ring seal.
