Awful coincidental that it blew while they had it though.... but, not like it is something they could have done on purpose....... Unless they overheated the engine nicely for you.....

I wouldn't think it would just let go though? Might be wrong though.

Pressure test the cooling system with the spark plugs out. Roll the engine over slowly while you have pressure on the system, and see if water comes out anywhere.

Don't have any way to pressure test the cooling system but I checked the oil again clean and in the safe zone. Antifreeze full.

I started it again and there was smoke coming out of the exhaust but no where near as bad as when I got to Les Schwab. I didn't push the issue too much. No weird noises or anything in the motor while idling.

I have been reading the plenum sticky and was wondering if these symptoms are in line with that type of issue. I have had that hard knock sound on occasion. Especially if I slow down very fast and then go to accelerate again. If I back out of it for awhile things get back to normal. I also go thru oil pretty regularly.

I will try and look and see if there is oil pooling.

The oil consumption is a pretty sure sign of a blown plenum....

If you let the truck run for abit, does the smoke clear up??
