Depends on tire size...... If you are running larger than stock tires, you may actually get BETTER mileage with the lower gears.

I love my 4.10! HeyYou is right. I get much better gas mileage running 33X12.50 with the 4.10 than I got with 3.55 running 31X10.50. Much better power down low and I honestly didn't see a drop up top. But the only Dyno I have is the seat of my pants!

I know everyone says that there is no way I am getting the MPGs that I am but I will tell you anyway
I put a 265/75/16 on and had 3.55s I got about 10 mpg at normal driving that I do every day and got 16 at best on trip.
Now with the same tires and 4.10 I get 17.3 driving all back road about 1 mile in city and 3 miles on the interstate everyday for a week.
I have not been on a trip with it since the 4.10s so i don't know how trip MPGs will be.

My mileage didn't change much going between 3.55's to the new 4.10's. I'm running 285 75 16

I recommend Yukon gear sets.

^You also have a V10 though. These guys have V8's.
As far as city driving, you will see better mileage. Highway, that will depend on tire size as stated above.

It will help your transmission out though, it won't be hunting all the time.
