Non-Kegger mod
I have gone through the FAQ's & the forum search, but haven't come across this idea.....
Has anyone taken a aftermarket intake, i.e. Professional Products brand, & modified it to work on a 2001 5.9 motor? It would take having the injector bungs welded on & a few other mod's, Summit offers a Magnum install kit for the manifold for the minor stuff.
Just throwing it out there for discussion....

I think by the time you buy the manifold, and the parts to make it compatible with the fuel injection, and get the two together.... you would end up spending more than if you just went and bought an airgap.....
Thanks for the replies.
$600 for the hughes, $350 for Mopar, & $100 for the Pro Prod. big difference in $.
From the Dealership, the M1 is a mid to top end manifold, the Hughes is a low to mid. The PP is a low to mid.
I know I probably wasn't the first to think this up, mostly just looking to see anyone had done this mod. & if there had been any sidebar discussions, pro / con.
As far as cost wise, I would be at the same as the M1.
Thanks again.

the thing about the hughes intake is that it comes with everything needed to install, M1 doesnt and ends up about the same price when said and done.
I dont think your gonna save money, but hey thats up to you......if it was worth it though the dakota r/t guys would know about it so you might want to peep in on some of there threads

You can pick up used M1s for $400 all day long, install kit is like $55 and gaskets are about $30, over $100 less than the Air Gap. And you don't have to use a stupid 2-4bbl adapter or change the fuel rail crossover line, ect.

I remember a thread about this long ago, and someone with much more technical know how chimed in saying there is not enough meat to drill and tap the injector bosses. Also was mentioning that the angles and depths of the injectors need to be fairly precise for even performance.
I say get a carb if you want to use it, then drill out the nitrous bosses for some real fun.
