What year truck was the transfer case out of?

Any chance of swapping the manual trans input stuff into the other t-case?

thats exactly what i did heyyou, the manual transfer case is a 94 with the speed sensor being the 3 prong,my automatic t-case had no plug (autos had speed sensor in the transmission) my manual case had a crack,so i swapped out the internals into the auto case & used the manual tail housing to support the speedometer. my guess is that this sensor only used for the odometer/speedometer

The PCM also uses the sensor to control idle speed based on vehicle speed. At least in a stock configuration with a manual trans.

ok lots of research has payed off, speedometer would not work with just the differential ABS/Speed sensor, here is what i have came up with for the output speed sensor located in either the trans or transfer case.
PCM connector C2 (white) 32 pin connection

94-97 (3 pin) in transfer case
Pin #1 white/orange stripe:SIGNAL (terminal 27@ PCM )
Pin #2 Black/L Blue stripe:GROUND (terminal 4@ PCM )
Pin #3 Orange:+5 Volts (terminal 31@ PCM )
NOTE: Pin 2 and 3 wires can be found on solinoid plug on A/T(round multi plug)

98- ? (2 pin) located in A/T
Pin #1 D Blue/Black Stripe:GROUND (terminal 25@ PCM )
Pin #2 L Green/Black Stripe:SIGNAL (terminal 28 @ PCM)

i spent alot of time on these, hopefully someone can use this info also.
