Default 96 ram SPORT Questions.

Ok so please don’t call me an idiot or tell me search the forum, I HAVE. I know that the "Sport" is entirely cosmetics and that is what I am working on. My headlights are super yellow, and my turn signal casings are spidering and cracking up. It’s definitely a TWO BULB setup and it looks like there is two pieces even. The turn signal light I don’t know how I would even get to when changing the bulb. My grill in the front also from opening and closing the hood is messed up. Everywhere the grill attaches to the metal framework the plastic holes where the screws fasten it are broken. Yeah I JB Welded it back about 5 times now and am finally getting fed up. Here’s pictures:

Im looking at getting this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TQ:MOTORS:1123

If anyone knows or can suggest something that will work, or if anyone has upgraded there sport grill and headlights please shoot me a link, or model etc. I just want to get a new grill and headlights that will drop in without too much fabrication work. This was the E-bay sellers response:

Dear buyer,

Thank you for interest to our products. This item should fit for RAM all models according to our fitment, and we have not had any complain for fitment issue yet, but we couldn't confirm if our customer had sport model or not. Thank you.

Sadly, you have a standard single headlight setup. The dual bulb setup appeared somewhere around 2000 ish, along with the special urethan bumper cover and elongated grill.
Your grill is a standard black plastic ram grill painted body color.
The turn signal is accessed by removing a screw at the bottom of the ts housing (which is partialy hidden by the bumper, and then the housing itself slides forward off the headlight housing assembly.
The headlights and grill you posted from ebay will fit your sport, but what you need to ask the seller is if the headlights have adjustment assemblies on them. many do not, and thus you end up with cool headlights that don't allow you to see anything at night.
You can buy OEM style assemblies that have clear or black side coatings and are adjustable.

They will bolt right in, and hook right up. It wasn't until 99 that the sport model had different headlights than the base truck. Even the front bumper is the same as the regular trucks, its just painted, instead of being chrome. (same for the rear.)

I am pretty sure its the same for the grille. Same thing as the regular trucks, just painted, instead of chrome.

Anyone know if i will have to doing any fabrication on the grille support on the inside? Since the support bars run vertical in the slots in the original grill, and this grill has horizontal fins.

On mine, the support is a separate piece, that the grill just sorta sticks to..... (push in spring clips.) I don't know if the new grill comes with that part, or if ya gotta change 'em over...... probably have to wait until your new grill shows up to see how its gonna work.

I have the same lights your considering on buying on my sport model. They don't adjust up/down or left/right. I did shim mine with some washers on one side since they angled in slightly. Those lights should works just fine with yours.

I definitely would like the adjustable. Anyone got a link to a cool set of headlights that adjusts so i dont have to shim and can adjust it on the fly?

You can find stock replacements on ebay as well. Exact same thing as you have in there, and cheaper than the other ones you were looking at.

Yeah i know HeyYou but i need to replace the grill and was just looking at the combo. Ive never been too fond of the stock grill and since mine is finally driving me completely nuts I wanna replace it. Found the stock headlights for 80 and stock grill for 30. Just figured 110 or 250 go a little higher make it look more unique and "better" :P Any suggestions? I mean you are "the man" remember :P
