Use power steering fluid.
Probably less than a quart required, getting all the air out of the system is the tricky part.
Jack up the front of the truck, and fill the p/s reservoir up. Start the truck, and crank the wheel back and forth, lock to lock, a couple times, top off the fluid. If the fluid is frothy, shut off the truck, and let is settle. (takes anywhere from half an hour, to an hour) Keep doing that until the system is full, and it isn't making any odd noises anymore.
