Remove all the plugs turn engine over to get oil and degreaser out of the cylinders, then reinstall plugs and see what happens... Also double check firing order..

DrewActual, I tend to agree it is fuel. Distributor did not move, but the old cap, etc was caked with burnt oil. It does get a fire, at the end of each cycle, especially when I floor it. (air cleaner is off, during all trys). Hit it with starting fluid, only fires a little.
So I am sure it is a timing issue, with the PCM and fuel delivery. I only cleaned the bottom of the fuel injectors with throttle body cleaner while I had the intake off, they were oily filled. I am betting that the PCM learned to deal with the bad intake, burnt oil, but it still ran fine, and started the first time after the fix.

I check pressure on the rail by trying to start it and pressing the pressure cap on the rail, and had good fuel delivery.

So how do I get the timing back?
Once I get back to it next week, I am planning on removing the intake again, removing the fuel rail and verify all are clean. Pull the head covers, clean and flush any debris, replace the gaskets, etc.

But if the timing is controlled by the PCM, how do I reset that?
thanks for your help.
Kevin

You get spark, and it will sorta run for a bit on starting fluid? If thats the case.... you are either not getting injector pulse, (sensor in the dist controls that) or, you are getting too much fuel, and flooding it out...... Check that the engine coolant temp sensor to the drivers side of the thermostat housing is plugged in, and the harness didn't get bunged up somewhere. Also, follow the wires for the cam position sensor (in the dist) and make sure they didn't get pinched somewhere.......

I really think you should try unscrewing the o2, what do you have to lose?

Everyone loves a good unscrewing.

Really not a bad plan to give that a shot.
