aging o2's start goofing up, but not so much that they trip a code.. let's say they swing more to the 'rich' side of the parameters, which means more fuel used..

o2's are sensitive on these rigs.. only buy densco (OE replacement) or NGK/NTK.. Stay the hades away from Bosch..

Drive downhill with a tailwind, both ways to and from work. That's the only thing that will help the mpgs in a jacked up, 3 ton truck with the aerodynamics of a brick.

A Sail is a good idea.. not one of those canvas things you have to furl, but one of those Jacques Cousteau 'wind tunnel' things that look like a smokestack.. two of them cleverly disguised as dual diesel stacks.. Dang... We're onto something here!!

ensures ideal a/f ratio and best mpg.

if your old one is working right, then it does nothing.
if your old one is carbone'd up and malfunctioning, then a new one will improve tuning.

if you notice a rich smell, or have very heavy black deposits in your tail pipe, or have black smoke, or your mpg is terrible (under 12mpg), or your mpg seems to have gotten worse - replace it.

if your not sure, and you can afford the $50 (shop smart) for a new one, then replace it.

I like the "sail" idea. Or just run straight pipes with some type of after burner. I hear NASA is not doing anything witheir rocket boosters anymore. So many options

Good for passing... yes, but I don't think they will pass the smog test we have in California. Heck, long tube headers are a no-go here!

If you wanted to, you could build some kind of release mechanism, and after using one up, release it at the car you just passed. Great for passing the guy that just cut you off and then taking him out afterwards.
