Default 96 2500 63k wooes...

Well my truck just rolled over 63k and the power level seems to drop ever time the odometer rolls over. I use my truck for everything I tow on a regular basis 10k plus and I snow plow in the winter.

So far i have replaced...
-Trans (full rebuild at 59k heavy clutches and bands)
-New trans cooler (same time as rad)
-New rad 3 months ago
-New muffler
-3rd set of brakes ( did chevy wheel cylinders int he back)
-New tcase (this past winter)
-crank sensor (this past winter)
-New shift solenoids and trans temp snsor 2 weeks ago
-New coil last week

I do regular tune ups and replace plugs every 7k. K&N air filter and syn oil every 3k.

I know my plenum gasket is blown and I now have a miss fire. I am always looking to increase power and towing performance in my truck.

This is what i plan on doing to fix my current intake problem and get a little more performance- Kegger mod (would like to buy one already done), headers (long or short dont know which one would be best), high flow cat.

Any other suggestions are welcome..

Thanks
-Mike

I dont plan on doing any FI on a gas motor. If i was going to go that way i would just buy a diesel and be done with it. But i dont have the funds for either right now so im just gonna do what i can with a new intake and what not.

What is the best intake for these motors? or what does everyone recommend?

I have looked into tuners but they are for 97 and up.... atleast the ones i have seen? i could be wrong...

I read around on here seems that people are mixed on the Airgap and that its not worth the money.

I think it all depends on how much they make an hour, and what bills they have to pay. (think: Disposable income.)

600 bucks is indeed a fair chunk of change to crank out for a manifold.... but, it ensures that you will never have plenum problems again, gives the motor a wider power band, and gives you a few more horseys in the the upper RPM range. Part of the reason that they ARE so expensive is, there just doesn't seem to be a lot of aftermarket support for these engines..... so, parts are getting more expensive. I have a manifold for an Olds V-8, that now sells for over 500, and they used to be a dime a dozen.
