Most fans will have that rating published somewhere.

Need an Amp Meter to test it.

I have a multi meter. I'm running a Derale dual fan kit that came with my fans. The inline fuse that came with the kit burnt out twice, melting the housing once. So I ran a 30 amp automotive circut breaker in place of the fuse. Do you think that is good enough ? Also i'm getting 12 volts at the breaker. Is that 12 volts to each fan or divided between the two? My truck is running at 220 on the highway, It had been running at 200 since my rebuild. As soon as I park it it cools to 200 quick. Perplexed.

if it's popping the fuse, you're drawing too much, or you've got a short. what is the amperage that your controller is rated for? Also, if you aren't running a slow blow type fuse, they may not be up to the task of taking the initial startup surge.

what fans are you running? how did you wire them?

2 procomp 16 inch fans run with a Derale relay kit, it is not a controller. They kick on at 180 and have an override toggle. I removed the fuse and added a 30A circut breaker. Shorted the fuse once, the second time don't know what happened. Thats why I added the breaker. They should be drawing 12.5 amps a piece.

They likely draw 12.5a running, but they pull more like 20a EACH on start-up..

Yup. Make sure your running that over 12ga wire minimum. With good connections..

once you get past the first half second of operation, you'll drop to reasonable 20~22a total..

I'd run 10gauge minimum on a dual fan setup.
