So with my slow pace...I'm just now getting around to actually dropping this thing. Got it loose and down, but I'm stumped on how to get it out from under the truck. Am I having a super brain fart here, or am I missing something? I elected to used the larger tranny jack rather than the scissor type for more stability and I didnt remove the transfer case I just dropped it all as a unit. I'm looking at around 10" of bell housing that won't clear coming out from under the frame. My floor jack is holding the rear of the engine up, so I'm trying to figure out how in the hell I'm gonna get this out. Even if I could get another jack to jack the frame up, I don't think my floor jack holding the engine up has enough travel to be jacked up a whole bunch more. Please someone gimme a genius idea here...=)
Separate the t-case from the trans, and pull the t-case out from under the truck. Take the jack out from underneath the trans, and pull it butt-first as far as you can out from under the truck. Lift the butt-end of the trans sufficiently that you can get the bellhousing to clear the frame, and pull the trans out from under. Might have a friend make sure the torque converter doesn't fall off, or, just pull it now, and don't worry about it. (this makes it easier to spill fluid though.....)
Kinda what I was thinking...I'm just leary of trying to wiggle that tranny off the jack. I'm sure I'll get er' out though. Thanks for chiming in though bud...Really appreciate the input.

Absolutely. I wonder why more people don't mention doing the rear main while the trannys out too...I still can't decide if I wanna hang it up for the night, or go get some starbucks and tear into this badboy while I have the time on the weekend. I'd love to be ordering parts come monday...Thanks for everyones help thus far.
