Thanks bud....need everyone I can get in my corner...=P I'm just trying to figure out what exactly I need to order so I can get it coming, and where exactly to order it from. I know theres tons of information on this site about it, but I work 60 hours a week and have a hospitalized premature baby. So its very difficult to spend time working on my truck, let alone researching and reading on the computer. Not to mention I'm not sure if these parts lists I'm finding are valid for my truck since its a 2001 and most everyone elses seems to be pre-1999.

Depends on how much ya wanna spend. You already have it completely disassembled, so, you should already know what hard parts you need to replace. On page six, of MonteC's trans thread, in the FAQ section, there is a list of parts he recommended for a member that regularly towed a 7k pound trailer. You may not need everything off that list...... but, its a good base to follow, just skip the upgrades you dont want. I also have a version of the file here, that has descriptions of the parts. Please note, some parts are listed multiple times, due to model year changes, make sure you get the right part for your truck.

All parts/part numbers are from WITTrans.com.

I got most of my parts from WITTrans.com They have a great turn around time. It was about 2-3 days and shipping is very reasonable.

Do any of the clutch sets come with snap rings? Or do those need ordered seperately? I suppose I can just call them to find out, I was just hoping to place my order tonight. Trying to inventory everything I need.

So I know im knitpicking the crap outta your brains, but im at a point again that im gettin frustrated and could use a little guidance. Trying to take inventory of parts needed and I can't seem to get bushing #12062B out of the output shaft. Thats a wit number and i know the bushing is wasted. It's in the very end of the extension housing and shows up on the wit parts drawing. I'm also wondering how to remove the other extension housing bushing, #36066. That one looks ok, but figure if I can get it out and install a new one why not? Any suggestions or constructive criticism? =P

Usually I just use something of slightly small diameter than the hole it goes into, but, won't get wedged into the busing, and drive them out. You might be able to use a punch, but, that can be a major pain, and is always very tedious.

Another method I have used, but, you must be VERY careful..... is to take a hack saw, and slice the bushing in one spot, then just peel, and roll it out. If that doesn't wanna work, slice it again 180 degrees around, and then it should just fall out. Try not to cut into the housing itself, and when you have the bushing out, make sure to clean up and scars you left in there. Don't have to sand them smooth, just make sure there aren't any rough edges that will make driving the new bushing in more difficult.

Yea my problem is it moves downward...I just cant get to it from the backside. I can pull it all the way to the top but then it gets stuck. I can move it back down...but it just wont come out. I almost need something like a puller that goes down in the inside diameter and grabs the bottom edges to pull it out and up. I'll keep racking my brain on it.

Can you grab it with vice-grips? You don't really care if you trash it taking it out, so, getting a good hold, and just giving it a twist to distort the bushing so it isn't so tight in the hole works fairly well....

Ok so quick update...ordered parts today from WIT. I think I recall someone saying something about quick turnaround time on shipping for these guys. Well let me just inform all of you guys, I ordered over $1000.00 worth of stuff today at 10:30 am mountain time, and by 2:00 pm mountain time my wife was calling me saying my parts were at the house, free delivery. 99.9% filled. The other two items had to come from outta state....the O/D direct clutch drum, and the O/D piston retainer. Freakin amazing customer service. And I never would have dreamed I'd be installing this the day I paid for it...WOW. Major kudos for WIT. Ask for Nick, he kicks butt. More updates to come.
