Default 97 Ram 2500 driving me crazy

Hello i have a 97 ram 2500 with v10 thats driving me crazy can't find anything wrong maybe someone that knows something about the v10 can help me. The problem i am having is when i am driving the truck will cut out for a split second kinda like start bucking and then start running fine it's been doing this for about 2 weeks not getting any worse but not better either woried it's going to cut out all together one day. Just replaced the o2 sensor on the left side to pass emmisions they said the idle was irratic causing it to fail. not putting out any codes for anything else the code it was putting out was 21 faulty o2 signal to pcm.have fuel, spark and air don't know what else to check everything seems to be ok truck has 162,000 miles on and runs great when not doing this except for only getting 8 miles to the gal on fuel mileage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thank you

I would suggest looking for loose or corroded ground wire connections, then moving onto wiring diagnostics. It's not likely that the crank sensor would be going bad with a single on off, kinda miss. Everytime I run into this kind of problem on anything it's usually a bad wire or connection.

The other thing is that it may just need a full tune-up with throttle body cleaning and possible vaccum line replacements.

I had a bad crank sensor do exactly would you discribed it wouldnt do at 55 miles per.
Dont rule out the crank sensor.
I never got any codes for bad crank sensor.

I'm not saying impossible, I've had crank sensors do all kinds of weird things. I like to diagnose things fully before just throwing parts at it just to find out the problem lies elsewhere.

My v10 did this when I first bought it. Problem ended up being very low transmission fluid. 4 years later it did it again, and I had the transmission serviced and bands tightened. Worked, but also found out I needed a new tranny. >.<

Chances are, that split second it cuts out, your losing fuel or spark. I would bet it's spark and replace the coil and cap to start with.

V-10 doesn't have a distributor, and it has five coils....... One of the modules failing could give those symptoms, so could a loose connector at the module.

Well, that's what I get for just glancing over my spec sheet. Your right no distributor.

Yeah I didnt say throw parts at it either. I said dont rule out the crank sensor like you had already done in your first post.
It took six monthes of diagnostics on and off to find it it was a bad Napa crank sensor.
