Default 01 Ram 1500 4x4 having trans issues please help

I have an 01 ram 4x4 with 5.2 and 46re trans, i recently pulled my old transmission and put a used one back in that i had a new front band installed front gears, and front pump bushing and front seal, the guy told me the transmission looked pretty good other than parts he installed. so i get it in and fluid levels are good cycled threw gears, and take it for a spin everything seems fine until i hit about 30-35 mph and it shifts straight into overdrive, kinda like it skipping 3rd gear, i get home drop pan and see the tranny guy didnt have a plug pluged all the way in on the side of the valvebody part of the tcc, so i slap it back together and still does the same thing shifting into overdrive around 30-35 mph with normal driving conditions. I went and bought a new tcc setup and installed it along with another selinoid from my old tanny after cleaning it throughly, and it is doing the same dam thing, i did notice the rear band had more play in it than the front band about a 3/4 to 1" of play the font band is around a 1/4 to 1/2 inch play, im at my wits end with this and need help so let me no of any ideas you might have thanks my email is russp2669@gmail.com im thinking its something stupid that i might of over looked

Check your TPS. If it is glitching it will send false info to the PCM, making it call for overdrive or lock-up sooner than it needs to.

Also make sure that the T.V cable is adjusted properly, that will effect the shifts too.

honestly, the trans can't skip third and go to OD. If you don't have third, you won't have OD. It may be going directly to lock-up in third though. I would say that you probably have some valvebody issues.

Pull the valvebody and air test the pistons and servo's. The next thing is the valvebody.....I'm thinking something is not right in there.

It is going into 3rd gear then instantly into over drive, i wish I had a dam drain plug now, this will be the forth time the pan has been off this week.

That may be a 3-4 shift servo and solenoid issue. If you pulled the valve body, it's the assembly with the cylinder. The spring may have broken inside,or the piston cracked. It may just be be a bad solenoid for the 3-4 shift tho, maybe it's grounded out internal.

I replaced the tcc selinoid and wiring harness and swapped the 3-4 selinoid from my old tranny, but I broke the housing on my old valve body or id just swap valve bodies. Could I pull my valve body back out and clean it by chance? I've never been internal on a tranny before and wasn't sure if going threw this valve body would help or hurt the situation, let me no if its something I could do, and if there is anything I need to watch out for thanks
