Get a used M1 2bbl and a SCT for the same price.
I have a manifold out in my garage for an older pontiac. Weiand aluminum four barrel.... you can still buy them, for 500 bucks. And it IS a carb manifold....

Its the whole supply/demand thing. There isn't much of a supply, and there isn't much of a demand.... so, making them isn't exactly cheap. Granted, I wouldn't be surprised if hughes didn't have a good markup on them...... as yes indeed, it IS just a carbed manifold with some extra bosses on it, and drilled holes.

I like the air gap because it comes with everything you need unlike the other manifolds you have to buy separately . And the m1 is exspencive now a days . probably because manufactuers know that these manifold are **** to begin with

My carbed Mopar M1 4bbl was 170.00 or so from Indy, bought it last month...I bought a Mopar M1 EFI 4bbl from Mancini for 126, another for 140...Gotta shop around, look for those clearance sales.

Granted, a Mopar M1 2bbl and install kit is going to be close to the Air Gap.

I have an air gap too... It serves its purpose.. and, I dropped six bills on it, mostly in frustration.. anyway.. that thing having that funky bracket on it to fit the throttle body has always set strange with me.. I mean, a six hundred dollar manifold shouldn't have a funky 'make do' gadget.. they should have addressed that for that price..

Last summer when it came time to get a new intake I looked at the huges intake but at $725.00
http://www.tbsengines.com/

HUGHES INTAKE - newly redesigned for 2009 - $725.00+ GST

So plus shipping to me total with tax was almost a grand, this made the Mopar M1 look cheap so mopar it was, I got the M1 for $500 Cdn and the install kit for $50. The parts were great quality fit and finish; up there with the best, no overheating probs, and no clearance probs for the air hat. When investigating the M1 I was sure that I had made a big mistake by getting it, but after the install I was happy as a kid in a candy store, my motor starts pulling strong at 1750rpm and just gets better the more you push it. As others have suggested it’s best to be used with other mods to get best results.

All my Mopar performance parts are new from the dealer, not much for used Mopar stuff up where I live. There is a small install kit needed and thats it. I would look for a used M1, you might check some Dakota forums.

Isn't the M1 a four barrel (sorta) manifold? Does the installation kit include the adapter for our two barrel throttle body?

There are two M1mpi intakes one is a 4bbl and the other is a 2bbl, The adapter from 4bbl to 2bbl is a septate part. I think Matty has the 4bbl version, I wonder if he is selling it. I have the 2bbl intake.

Yep, seems the Mopar Supercenter has it for 472.00 bucks.... supposedly, everything just swaps right over, did it actually work out that way for you?
