Indexing is not for that style. The style with a shaft and gear on it get indexed. You have the ABS issue, which has nothing to do with that sensor. The rear one needs to be replaced first and eliminate that problem.

There should be index marks, with numbers, on the body of the sensor housing. Need to know what the tooth count on the driven gear (the one in the sensor) is, and then look for the index mark with that number next to it, and that's the one you use.

There are some good pics, and a better explanation in the 96 service manual you can download from here.

Not if he has a gear like the one in his pic. As a matter of fact, if he does have one like in the pic, according to PATC it's a 241 TC. Which would be odd in a 1500.

Shouldn't matter which t-case he has, they all used the same sensor, and the alignment procedure in the the manual doesn't differentiate between any of the versions.

They might use the same sensor but not the same gear.

Shouldnīt it be just to stick down the sensor and then drive?

The first pic is the part that get's indexed as HeyYou said So he's obviously right about that. The other part just goes on one way.

Also it's pretty obvious that the patc website is wrong in stating that the one in the second pic is for a 241 tc.

Download the 96 service manual from the FAQ section or get a Haynes manual, the procedure is in there too.
