Its been a few weeks, but I finally got around to testing TPS. Its was fluctuating at closed position and during the sweep there was a few spots that the voltage dropped to 0.0 but then spiked back up. Thought for sure that replacing it would fix the problem, but after the test drive it had done it a few times down the highway. The transmission actually felt smoother during shifts so I think replacement was necessary anyway. It was a Auto Zone replacement but sweep test was solid. I noticed that it only unlocks when I have to let off the gas and re apply cause some jerk off is brake happy. It will eventually lock up correctly after a few times off letting off and re-applying. Going to drop the pan in the morning and have a look at the solenoids, anything else I should look for while I'm in there? Thanks again for all the help.

Just see if there is anything there shouldn't be in the pan. Band adjustment while you are there?

I saw a diy on cleaning the solenoids, I'm wondering if replacing them with aftermarket or cleaning the o.e is going to be the best solution. Not sure about adjusting the bands, see a lot of threads on failure after adjusting them. Is it preventive maintenance or a last ditch effort to save the tranny. I'm not feeling any slipping just the tc not locking all the time. Sorry for all the ? I appreciate all the input.

Governor Pressure solenoid is the only one that benefits from cleaning, I do believe. Just replace the TCC/OD solenoid set. See if that improves its attitude any. (you did check the TPS first though didn't you?)

Yes new tps is within spec. It's funny cause auto zone said to bring the part in cause they said my truck doesn't have tcc solenoid. Too many names for 1 part I guess. Will report back with what happens with the test drive.

I just dropped the tranny pan, nothing in there but red tranny fluid. Fluid doesn't smell burnt and barely anything on magnet. There was some metallic sparkles at the bottom of pan but nothing major, I assume that's normal????? Pulling solenoids next.
