Might be a bit of slack in the chain. Did they put a new one in? You also might be hearing the spiders in the front diff....

Front and rear diffs are new. New 4.65 gears 3 weeks ago. Slack in the chain Sounds more like it. They put a new one in, but it should be making any noise in the case.

Shifter problem turned out to be jsut the plastic guide on the top of the case under the boot. Was broken but not at first glance, only until pulled the handle watching it did i see it separate and allow the shifter to move to far.

Go back to where you got the case from, and have a chat with 'em. See what they have to say.

Ok, here is some new information now that I have studied the problem some more. It really does sound like its coming from the t case, but then again. The T-case shifter is the most likey place to bring any noise into the cab.

Here is what I have found.

It only grinds when coasting. It only grinds at high speeds. [60 plus] When I turn overdrive off, It grinds much less maybe not even at all. [hard to tell over car noise] but definitely much less. This could simply be from the fact that the engine is still under load this way though. Overdrive seems to be part of the problem, but does not explain the resistance at higher speeds [74mph+]

i have not had a chance to take it back to the mechanic yet. I am in school, work, etc, etc, etc...hopefully this week.
