I've been doing research myself and I've concluded that a Taurus fan (or mark 8 if they have one) from u pull it is my best bet. Trying to keep it under 100. I'm just stuck between spending $20 for a controller or speeding $120 for a quality controller. Anyone had any bad experiences with the cheap ones?

I had a Taurus fan in my S10. I just used a toggle switch and 80a relay . It's fine as long as you don't forget to turn it on. I'm paranoid and watch my gauges constantly so it was never a problem. Half the time you can leave it turned off when you're just cruising down the highway.

Well I do very minimal driving, 1-2 miles a day, and go on the highway maybe once or twice a month because I live in the city. My truck never really warms up between my drives so this will be nice. I do agree that a fan not turning on whould be catastrophic ESP if my girl friend/ anyone else was borrowing my truck and didn't notice. What is a good but cheap fan controller? Sorry every one of my posts has to do with being cheap but Im in high school (first day) and make 70 bucks a week working part time and after gas i have like $30-40 a week so I like to stretch my dollars so I can have a little bit of everything. My trucks my hobby so I don't mind spending every dollar on it but I dont have much to begin with.

That mark VIII fan is going to pull a lot of amps, you might find that you need to upgrade the alternator in order to run it.

I am running the Mark 8 in my truck with a stock alternator and 6 months later no problems. Mine is the single speed fan and you don't want to use a cheap controller with this set up due to the amps this thing pulls. I am using the 31165 Flex a Lite controller with the soft start. If you get a two speed fan you can rig up a controller with relays, but its not that much cheaper than just getting a quality controller.

I have the 136 amp alternator if that is an upgrade from stock, I also have a 1000 watt amp and two 10" kickers in the back. Do you think my alternator won't handle it? So I'm looking at spending around $100 for a quality controller?

With just the fan you would be oaky, but I'm not sure with using the amps. You might be able go somewhere that installs sound systems and see what they think. The max the mark 8 pulls is around 90 amps at start up, but with the controller I mentioned it cuts that down considerably. But the constant pull is around 30-35 amps, I think. Thats how I am able to use the stock alternator. Without the controller I would definitley have to upgrade...

He has yet to get back to me. well I have the week of so dyno run #2 will be happening in a few days. Hope e-fan shows up this week.

I made that initial comment as an observation, to help you with your research, not to call you out. You'll notice there is no slam or put down in that post. Your go-off-half-cocked attitude read something into it that wasn't there and you decided to run your mouth without checking facts. You made yourself look like a fool, and then posted even more ignorance after that.

In the words of today's youth: you need to slow your roll.
BAM!....Tough Actin Tinactin ! Kachunk Kachunk !
