saw this one previous in my search but since it only tells you how to do it using Mopar tools I said **** it. People always find a way to do it without and thats what I was looking for. A way to replace the clutch without having to get mopar specific tools.

I completely agree. Using the right tool for the job is for chumps. Here are the only tools you'll ever need:

Now that I have replaced the compressor can I just recharge it with one of those cans or do i need to take it to a shop. I know people have said u will have moisture inside the lines. Those refigerant cans claim to get that out. Would it work for me to just recharge it with one of the cans or do I still need to evac it? thanks

I would evac the system anyway. That is the "correct" way to do it, and will assure that you get the best performance from your A/C. Which was the whole idea anyway, was it not? Not to mention, pulling a vacuum on the system will also tell you if there are any leaks. The refrigerant is not precisely cheap...... so, fixing leaks before putting the expensive stuff in there is definitely the hot ticket.

Grab the 01 service manual from the faq section, go by what is in there. If you got a 'new' compressor, didn't it come pre-filled?

the manual doesnt list how much oil to add. I even looked at the 1996 one also. No dice. I have a used compressor. I'm trying to be cheap.

The whole system holds about 8 ounces, so stick one 2 ounce can of oil in, and call it a day. SP-20 PAG
