Now that I have replaced the compressor can I just recharge it with one of those cans or do i need to take it to a shop. I know people have said u will have moisture inside the lines. Those refigerant cans claim to get that out. Would it work for me to just recharge it with one of the cans or do I still need to evac it? thanks

I would evac the system anyway. That is the "correct" way to do it, and will assure that you get the best performance from your A/C. Which was the whole idea anyway, was it not? Not to mention, pulling a vacuum on the system will also tell you if there are any leaks. The refrigerant is not precisely cheap...... so, fixing leaks before putting the expensive stuff in there is definitely the hot ticket.

how much oil do i have to put in the compressor? I know everyone says just measure whats in the old one but i spilled some of it and then dumped it in the first compressor i was going to use which didnt work. Now i bought oil eariler but everything I read says a different amount. I've read 2 oz 7.5 oz i cant seem to get a consistant number
