Default broken stabilizer bar connection

Alright so i was having trouble with my 99 ram 4x4 318 whenever i make a right turn or hit a bump/pothole in the road. i hear a grinding noice and can also feel as if something is binding momentarily and then releases..this only last for a few seconds during the actual turn and then goes away. And like I said only on right turns.

I originally thought it was either wheel bearings out or the u joints we bad. Today I jacked the truck up and there is no play when wiggled both wheels at 6 and 12. Also turned wheel hard to the right and left while in the air and spun the wheel by hand with no binding at all.

While look at the drivers side u joints I noticed something wrong. The ball and socket type joint used to connect what i believe is the stabilizer bar is broken. By broken i mean that the ball is out of the socket. The joint i am referring to (i dont know proper name) is located in the front (towards front bumper) of the lower coil spring mount above the front axle. The part I believe i am referring to is the stabilzer bar link

What is the name of this part? I know this needs fixed, but is this the culprit of my problems?

Thanks as always

I do believe you have the correct name for the part. Should be able to get 'em at the local neighborhood parts store. Only way to know if that is the problem, is fix it, and see. It may be the source of some of your noise, but, not sure if that is gonna be the whole problem.

Im thinking that the binding and noise during the turn is when the broken joint shifts around during a turn. It doesnt do it all the time and the slower i take a turn the less it does it. I believe because there is less body roll of the truck? correct me on that if im wrong. Is that link hard to change? And do I need any special tools? Im at college (200 miles from home) right now and only have my set of craftsmen wrenches and sockets and some other basic tools.

I hope that fixes it. Now why the hell did you start another thread instead of sticking that info in with the original one? LOL

Bad reason bud(the worst one actually). Reason being, anyone doing a search for the same issue finds your first post, but no resolve. Maybe Jason will merge this one. patience is a virtue.
