Default Fuel sync problems and P1391

Been a while sence i been on here but been having power problems out of the motor just really low on horsepower. I hook up my snap on brick and check the fuel sync -10. HOLY HELL lol so got it set back to 0 and it was great ran like a bat out of hell. But only lasted about 10miles or so and started to make a rattle noise at higher rpms. Got home and notice the idle is really loopy like 500 rpm to 900 rpm. I also got the P1391 code to pop up. I checked all the wires for the cam and crank senor. I oms out the wire between the sensor and pcm and i also checked for the 5v. Every thing is right on. After all of that i am lost.

Maybe one or the other is simply bad? You can test them until your blue in the face, and that doesn't mean they are working correctly, like the PCM wants them to..

Rattle noise at higher RPMs may very well be spark knock.

Have you ever fixed the plenum gasket?

I'd run some seafoam thru the intake to blow out the carbon.

Then I would wager you've got I one of the lesser common problems like a bad coolant temp sensor or the like.

P1391 Interm Loss of CMP or CKP

If you have already replaced both sensors.... then you either got a bad one, or, you have a wiring issue somewhere. Did you check/clean the connectors at the PCM?

Where did you get your new crank sensor?
