Since I'm a new Ram owner, I don't know that a TB spcaer is supposed to do. But I have been hanging around long enough to learn from everyone here that the kegger mod is worth doing - and every stock plenum pand either has or will fail. And it appears that they fail pretty soon. But that's just my begginer knowledge. I haven't driven mine more that 80 miles when I picked it up, and I already did the kegget mod on an extra intake, and will be putting it one within the next week, along with capp, rotor, plugs and wires.

Thanks to all that have helped me learn what I need to do - I am wasting no time.

Throttle body spacer was originally designed for carbed applications. It sits between the carb (or throttle body), and intake manifold, and is supposed to lend a bit more 'swirl' to the incoming air/fuel charge, to keep the fuel in suspension better. It actually DOES work to a limited extent on carbed engines, and on Throttle body injected engines. (where there actually IS fuel in the air charge going thru it.) On port injected engines, like ours, there is NO fuel in the incoming air charge, so, all it does is swirl the air a bit more, and give you clearance problems with you air filter housing. There is zero performance gain. None. Nada. Zilch. (unless you want to count the .00000001 second you may pick up in the quarter mile from your wallet being lighter..... but of course, that is offset by the weight of the tb spacer. and if you pay be credit card? Well, you are just screwed.)

HeyYou. Since the TB spacer is on the intake side of the TB could it be slightly altering intake tract length in the same way pwer profiles are altered leading builders like to play with runner length on intake manifolds? Intake tract length is one of those things I've never gotten my head around why it may matter some places but not others such as air filter tract length for example.

Runner length is what you are referring to, but, no, the runners don't start until the air has traveled a pretty good distance (as these things go) already in the empty space above the the runner intakes. It is the enclosed length there that the pulses generated by the air moving/stopping as the valve opens/closes that make the difference. Anything that happens prior to that, won't matter. (well, aside from going thru a blower of some sort. )

Ahh thanks HeyYou I shoulda known it's some of that pulse pressure/CFM kinda stuff which is always feels so much above my head. Reminds me the conversations I see the two stroke expansion chamber designers talking about on some of the bike pages I look at. All that stuff seems like voodoo witchery to me but I still listen and try to learn. Maybe someday when I'm way to old to ride I can finally understand enough to design pipes to help me win.haha!
