Lol that's funny, but I thought these things came with 240 hp at the wheels. That guy only had 223 hp with 5+ grand in mods? I'm calling bs on that one, or I'm not going to upgrade my truck lol

I think they are rated for crankshaft horsepower. Sounds better that way.....

Very true, damn and don't these things lose like 25% to driveline? And who knows how much to parasitic loss such as the alternator. Damn so this thing has, according to my Completely guessing logic, around 150-170 hp new?

245hp at the crank stock for a 5.9. Typically around 190hp at the wheels stock.

I joined this forum to gain some knowledge about the Dodge Magnum engines in the 2nd gen dodge trucks. I didn't expect to be accused of bull****ting. I haven't spent the last 30+ years working in an engine machine shop to have anyone question my facts.
FACT: I HAVE DONE THE MODS TO MY TRUCK AS MENTIONED IN THE FIRST POST
FACT: YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE I HAVE DONE TO THIS ENGINE OR THE REST OF THE TRUCK
FACT: THE CHASSIS DYNO DOESN'T LIE 274.8 HP AT THE REAR WHEELS
FACT: 0-60 BEST TIME 6.6409 SEC.
FACT: I DON'T TAKE THE TRUCK TO THE STRIP BECAUSE I DON'T NEED TO
FACT: I HAVE BUILT AND RACED NUMEROUS COMBINATIONS IN EXCESS OF 900 HP...HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED THAT?
This forum has a wealth of information and that is a two way street but, quite frankly, it would be a waste of my time. I have better thing to do than have my integrity questioned and you won't have to worry about me being a member in the future.

You're still wrong. You didn't gain 85hp with minor bolt-ons. Kthxbye

You'll be ok, a bunch of bored guys judging your truck isn't the end of the world isn't 6.7 ridiculously fast? I don't know 0-60 times because my truck would probably blow up and drink two gallons of gas if I gunned it that long lol

wasn't 5+ grand in mods. Probably more like 2000 as the parts were used and he had his own speed shop to do the dyno.

Also, Bil is a member of DF as well as bionic. Oops, forgot to mention that Billy was the owner of KRC performance before he sold it. I would not call BS on him. Read the link I provided. Especially the part where a modern 5.7 Hemi only got 232 to the rear wheels.

I guess I was harsh, but someone had to do it. And the FACT that we don't know what else he has done to his truck...well he only stated minor bolt ons in a CAI, exhaust and accel ignition (probably just a coil).

275 RWHP is a major feat. And if he didn't know much about magnum engines then it is very hard to believe 275 was accomplished.

Oh, and most of us (although there are a few) have never built 900HP applications because "we don't need to."
