Ordered new pcm be here in a couple days....check back next week sometime

but in the meantime....we have changed crank and cam sensors to hopefully elimninate frying of new computer....

Possible that the alternator is overcharging ? Maybe i will leave belt off before starting this time so there is no charge on computer

any input?

Can't hurt.

In the meantime, have a look at posts by CMCKenna. He hasn't been around for a bit that I have noticed, but, he did some REALLY good write ups for folks in a similar situation. Might be enlightening.

OK.....
installed new PCM....check engine light does bulb check now....tried key dance ( nothing)
while cranking....i have pwer at injectors ( no ground pulse) i have pwer at the coils ( no ground pulse)....ads relay clicks on, fuel pump primes and shuts off like it should

i have no spark , and no injector pulse....this truck still does not start

crank and cam sensors are new from dodge....all fuses have been checked and are good

now what....i'm in the dark here, doesnt cam and crank sensors give ground to pcm to send it to coil and injectors?....wow

i have no communication with pcm with my scan tool

So, the PCM apparently is getting signal from the cam and crank sensors, else power would go away at injectors and coil.... Injectors are individually grounded thru PCM, PCM also decides which coil to fire. (each coil should fire once per revolution, one coil, two cylinders..... yep, the plug fires on an exhaust stroke as well.)

Do ANY of your coils fire?

after a few cranks, i lost all power at coils and inectors

no check engine light bulb check now and the fuel pump runs constantly with key on

Something is smoking the PCM..... but, I have no idea what it would be. There are just too many possibilities...... If you can warranty out the PCM, and get another one, Unplug ALL sensors/coils/etc, just leave cam/crank sensors, and see if you get anything. There will be codes galore......

Not the best way to find the culprit, I'll admit, other alternative would be to test each individual component for shorts, high voltage, whathaveyou.

man,....the possiblilitys are endless, could it be in the ignition switch...

another thing i noticed was the coil had power before i smoked pcm....then after the pcm was smoked the power wire turned to ground...why would that be? i unplugged the computer and all sensors, it was still grounded...unhooked the pwr side of battery and still gorunded....

That should not be happening. With the key off, that circuit should be open. Pull the ASD relay, and see if it is still a ground.

Have you tried removing the covers off the steering column and inspecting the wires? A tilt wheel can cause issues with those wires.
