I never rebuilt a tranny before, I haven't decided what I'm gonna do yet. The piece looks like part of a band. Its like an 1/8" square that's got a curve to it about 1" or so long

ill try to post a pic of it tonight. Its at my work and im gonna load it up and haul to my dads and start tearing tranny out.

I just reread this thread, and noticed that you had one question that had not been answered. Trans fluid should be ATF 4.
