figured out my vibration problem.....transmission HELP!
If the whole "driveline" is shaking how do you know the "engine runs perfect" ? And it would be nice to know if it is 4wd or not. It would be even better if you put that/all info about the truck in your sig. This way we don't have to guess, and you don't have to type it in every time.
OK, why would you ask that? To make me look stupid? LOL
I bet it's because you have a 3500 right? Of course you have no info about your truck in your sig or profile. Doesn't matter, I assumed it was a 1500, and some early models had a 2 piece shaft that is replaceable with a one piece even from the dealer.

ok new update. i took the rear section of my driveshaft out today and it is now spinning true. buuuut i still have the vibration at 40+mph. while i had the rear section out i measured how much play was in the yoke when i would turn it from all the way left(counterclockwise) to all the way right(clockwise). its measures about 1/2 in. it is a dana 80 axle. is this normal or to much play? could that be causing it?
You are also taking up slack in all the gears and such in there. So, not real unusual.
With the rear section out, truck in 2wd, slowly accelerate the engine (in gear) and let it shift into at least third. (it will more than likely set a fistful of codes though....) and see if you still get the vibe.
