I cant believe the original bill was that expensive to begin with! I paid $80 full price off of rock auto. (Timken too) They (the shop) get their product for half price almost charge you double, so now you are probably at 150-200 and then another 400+ to replace it?? PLEASE!!!! I replaced my right front hub on my 96 today in a matter of 50 minutes or less. What a joke. Wish you lived by me, Woulda done the whole job parts and labor for $250.
And yes the axle shaft does not need to be removed for this job.

Got my truck back work not done. Goodyear is the shop, the corp office needs a Dodge service to look at it to show Goodyear did wrong. I called a local dealer and yes they did agree with me it can damage the axle seal by beating on the hub. They had a few issues in the past themselves. Have to take it in and let them look at per Goodyear.
