The dealer that looked at it was not the one I bought it from. I travel for work so haven't gotten the original dealer to look at it yet. The original dealer was the one that said they would do it wholesale labor free if it needed to be replaced. Bought it like 3-4 weeks ago. Been doing it since I bought it. Didnt know the noise was that serious test driving it with about a grand in parts into it so far.

Did you happen to mention the rear end noise to the salesman?

Yea, so the diagnostic I got at the dealer was free. Didn't have to pay the $55 fee. He is speaking with his "manager" tomorrow

Neither myself nor the sales manager thought it was anything serious. Although I have a tough time my entire rear end needs replaced. the pinion and ring, the posi assembly and the carrier bearings, seals, joints are all bad since I have put over 1,500 miles on it in 4 weeks without it getting worse.

unfortunatly no, They had it put back together by the time they came to tell me what was wrong which i thought was odd. That was my first red flag.

I would be real tempted to take it somewhere for a second opinion then....... Unless they offer to do the whole job at no charge.......

I am taking it Friday to the dealer that sold it to me so they can look at it, and than Monday I am taking to to the personal mechanic that are friends of the family to see what they come up with.

I thought I got a good deal on it but after plugs/wires/cap and rotor/ plenum fix/shocks/battery/02 sensors/ valve cover gasket/pcv valve/thermastat and now the rear end I should have just bought a new truck, lol

*update* Called my family friend mechanic and told me if i had to replace every part top to bottom im looking at $900 in parts and 300 in labor. way below the $3,000 i was quoted from the dealer. The mechanic has not now, hopefully i can get my O/D, shifting, and rear end issues solved today!

Just got the news, $1300 fix all shot except the axels. And the dealer I bought it from has mysteriously lost the ability to return calls.
