Noise during acceleration
U-joints are brand new along with the timing chain. I just noticed my o/d button doesnt work and shifting doesnt seem as smooth as it did 3 weeks ago so I have a feeling that noise is my transmission on its way to vacation.
*edit* SCT tuner will be purchased in the next month or so.

edit, and try this and see if any codes come up. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...code-list.html
DO NOT use any additive to flush your engine out.
If you want to get rid of sludge, use synthetic oil and change it every month for 4 months. That should help you out. And that is WITH dropping the oil pan and getting all the crap out of there.

I am assuming since the plenum was blown for so long the cat is bad. My plan was to just cut it out and straight pipe it. would that make noise while driving if it was bad?
Hard to say, noises are not easy to diagnose with out hearing in person. Regardless, I'd fix the know problems first, and go from there.
I had a friend tell me if i cut out the cat and straight pipe it i will have a permanent check engine light on.
I am pretty much a newbie on car repair. Will straight pipe it affect anything? I dont live in cali or a place with emissions testing.

No it won't hurt anything. There is a good chance you will get a cel, you can do the non fouler trick to get rid of the cel.

I ended up not need to gut the cat after testing it. Turned out when I did the plugs and wires I crossed 6 and 8 so i was getting a misfire on #5 code. Doubled my gas milage with all the work from 8 MPG on the highway to 14. I am pretty darn happy with that considering its a 5.9L. The Tuner is ordered and on the way. I am going to take the truck to the shop to have the u-joints replaced. I have a feeling, even though they are new, that they might have been installed wrong and is causing the noise like everyone is saying.
Now if i can get that wrapped up and my muffler done, I will be done with repairs/upgrades(maybe), lol

Took it to the dealer for the U-joints and they told me they where new and that the noise was my rear end is shot. $3,000 total bill. Definitely getting a 2nd opinion on that. I am pissed because I bought it like that from a dealer and not a private sale. The dealer told me they might be able to do the whole rebuild free labor with just the wholesale parts cost since it was making the noise when I bought it.
That's my rant
