Default parts truck part 2!

found a 1995 dodge ram 1500 with less than 150k on it. Has a new tranny with less than 100miles on it. Guy is selling the truck for 500 bucks and says the motor is only running on 7cyl. Its a beautiful truck(great shape..) has 410 gears and i figure i'll check it out tmrw. if its what it looks like and what he says it is ill buy it. gunna do a compression test if i can tmrw while at the guys house and see if i can figure the engine out. (he said it made black smoke... and ran reallly bad). Figure since we got the 2011 now i can play more with my truck. any suggestions for me tmrw?(ya ya i know check plenum, front end..etc)

If you happen to find that it is an easy fix, keep your poker face on and buy it if you feel it's worth it.

Good Luck.

And fix the plenum so it doesn't blow again? How much would that be?

Your assuming he's telling you the truth. He could be playing you for a sucker. He also could very well be a mechanic. Just be a straight shooter and do whats fair for both of you.
