They must have hard wired the junction box for some reason or another, only the one side because the blower doesn't turn on. So what I am thinking is there is a problem on the, Fuse 1 50A red/blk wire coming off the PDC (either connected by PO or shorted) with blk/wht wire going into the junction box and its back feeding me 12v at the ignition switch wire.. Think I will be able to reach the junction box if I take out the speedo assembly?

Contort yourself around, and have a looksee up there.... see what you can see. A bright flashlight will help. You can make the call from there if removing the cluster will help you any.

so i got digging in there a little more and found a very poor job of installing a remote car start/alarm. took out the box and all associated wiring (i dont get much time to dig around as I have to drive the truck almost every day..)

Well I unhooked and rewired the ignition wires and such.. to no avail on solving the power on issue.. One thing to note at the moment is the Fused Ignition feed input on the radio has 12v with the ignition switch off, the BLACK/Blue ground wire that is ground is stripped and wired to the back of the radio to turn on. If I remove the wire the radio will not turn on.. unless I hook up the antennae, then the BLACK/Blue wire is worthless because its grounding through the antennae. I still get wipers and turn signals with the truck off and key out.

Just feel a little better after taking out the remote start and seeing how many less wires I have to deal with.. what a hack job.. I will have to post a pic of it!

Are we having fun yet? Do you have the service manual for your truck? There are a selection in the faq section available for download.....

Yup got the service manual.. Frustrating is all.. with no direction on whats going on. To many things don't work or wont work right for that matter and winter in Iowa is no treat.. especially with no heat in the shack of a garage.

Before I could just unhook the battery and be on my way.. now I cannot drive it because it has no brake lights..

Trouble is, I think one, or more.... of the previous owners did a hack job on the wiring, and you aren't just looking for one problem, I suspect you have several.......

I really hate electrical issues......

Unhappy Strange electrical

When I turn on the left signal the wipers run, also if I turn on the running lights and turn on the fog lights the wipers run. Have changed the turn signal unit to no avail. Any ideas and advise appreciated.

Check the wiring at the back of the wiper switch, and also the back of the headlight switch. Make sure all the grounds are good as well. There are some manuals available in the FAQ section, have a look.
