Default new XRF adjustable track bar

Hey guys, just got an adjustable track bar from XRF. Nice piece. It is solid steel with alot of adjust ability and will compliment my new one ton steering upgrade nicely. now my question is this, it doesn't have a grease fitting. can I drill and tap in a grease fitting (zerk) or do things inside the joint, like channels for the grease to move about need to be there which may not be? of course I would be very careful as to not introduce metal shavings to the joint etc. while doing this. or should I just run it without? 171.00 shipped from XRF as there are no dealers in Florida. please advise. Thanks, Jeremey

A $400 Thuren Trac Bar doesn't have greasable joints either. And it doesn't need to be greased. It's a better joint that doesnt need to be. If the XRF has the same joints, I'm betting it doesn't need greasing either. Have you looked on there website for info regarding your question?

no, I haven't. will do.
Found this on a diesel website:

My XRF lowers have grease zerks.
When I called them they said in their experience they get better life out of a sealed unit thats built properly than one with zerks. They say most guys will shorten the life because they will pump any old goop they have in the grease gun.

I don't know if I buy into that thinking myself but they must not put zerks on for a reason?

Let me just say that I installed new upper and lower XRF ball joints and I'm VERY PLEASED with the quality of the ball joints. I think you'll be happy with your track bar.

I have seen folks run lines from all of their zerk fittings.... to a central location under the hood...... then just hop from zerk to zerk when doing the oil change thing....... Personally, I thought that was a bit berZERK......
