Leveling Kit Ordered
I think yours will be the same as mine, I'm pretty inexperienced with the big mechanical problems and the leveling kit was no problem. I would recommend getting it aligned after though. Which one did you get? and where from?
lulz, the 2.5" from HBS was not cake. I had to DC the sway bar. One jack stand on frame behind control arm, the floor jack on the axle, and my hi-lift on the front tow hook. This was in order to gain as much droop as possible.
Got the spring and spacer in....then used dish soap on the rubber isolator to get that phat boy back in. Perhaps I missed something...but that was not straight forward. lol

IIRC, my O/R springs are stiffer, combined with the bigger spacer is what made it tight. Here's my glory picture after getting the isolator slipped in.

I realized these spacer's are a cheap lift/leveling situation, so don't bash too hard. BL and SL are in due time.
What are some relatively simple methods of keeping the spring in the bucket? I've read pipe clamps on top/bottom, etc. Is this really typical to ensure not dropping a spring on full droop on the trail?

I am not entirely sure you can get full droop on the trail, unless you are doing jumps.... which, in these heavy assed trucks, would be recipe for disaster..... (cue Molly Hatchet....) If you are really nervous about it, you could just install some limiting straps, so your axle CAN'T drop too far...

you sure can get some droop on trail. 26secs
This is my budz rig. The shocks are his limiting straps.

Limiting straps are the right way to go. Using shocks as the limiter for diff drop is not good, he will mess up the valve's inside the shock and/or one day the shocks top will just pull out.
OP tips to make this supper ez
1 disconnect the draglink from the pitman arm
2 disconnect the tracbar
3 disconnect the sway bar
4 block the back wheels and set e brake
5 get the front bumper top about 50" off the ground and block the frame just behind the lower control arms both sides.
6 remove the tires
7 remove the shocks
8 put a chain through the coil spring and chain it off so the if it does decide to fly out it won't go far
9 lower the diff till the springs fall out
re assay in the opposite order. These are tips and not instructions, Please wear safety gear when working on your truck.
