sloppy steering
The truck came with 265/70/16 I put on 275/70/17. The rims are dodge rims but the tires i got from a friend of mine. They are only 1/2 worn,( he went to 31s) so quite possibly it is the tires. I'll have the guy at the alignment shop check it out. thanks for all the help!

Had a feeling they were used. I have a 90% hunch they're your problem. The other 10% says maybe an alignment will help, if your old tires were worn to compensate for misalignment, and these tires aren't. Either way, an alignment can't hurt.

There are some adjustments you can do to get a bit more life out of the old box. There is even a DIY in the faq section for it. Or, download the factory service manual (also in the faq section) and the procedure is outlined in there as well.
I thought the same thing...I even bought the steering arm bracket to stiffen things up and replaced a sloppy steering shaft with an adjustable heavy duty one because of my body lift.. While it helped I found the wander was still there....I just discovered play in my track bar the other day that I somehow missed the last time I looked for it so thats the next thing on my list..
