Default transmission won't shift into overdrive

Hi I am new to this site and probably beating a dead horse but I have a 2000 dodge ram 1500 4x4 quad cab sport yellow 5.5" mixed company lift with a 300hp mopar crate motor and the 46re trans. I just had the trans rebuilt because i broke the second gear band. I reinstalled it and it shifts wonderful 1-2 and 2-3 but it will not shift to OD. driving it down the highway if you push the overdrive button you can feel the convertor lock and unlock and the tach moves 200-300 rpm but will not go into 4th. all the connection on the trans are good there is no fuses blown and the trans is full of fluid in neutral.

Wonder if the rebuilder put in the wrong year solenoid set.... Take it back to whoever you had do the work, tell 'em what's going on. They should fix it for ya.

Welcome to DF!

I bet they didn't rebuild your old tranny. They put one in it that they already had on the shelf. Problem is, the interior electronics ie... Gov pressure switch/transducer, and the TCC/OD solenoid assembly need to be for a 2000 or 2001 only. The Governor solenoids are the same IIRC. But, the Gov body may need replace , because the Gov pressure switch/transducer mounts to the Gov body different.

where did you find a mopar crate motor? They are hard to come by. Especially one built to 300HP.

I bought it at summit racing equipment in Sparks Nevada in 2004 for $3400, I was playing in the mud and the factor 5.9 started to have a miss and found out it was the heads then 200 miles later i was driving down the interstate and it started to knock and when i pulled it apart the welds had broke on the pickup screen and there was just a tub sticking down off of the oil pump. I was originally going to buy the 385 hp crate motor nut it said in bold letters would not work with a/c so i settled for the 300hp. I sold the carb intake and ignition system that came with it.

AH, i remember distinctly that summit and jegs had them in 2004. Not so much nowadays. I was looking at getting one of them. But I was looking at the shortblock not the longblock because of no need for the carb setup.
