im currently runnin the stock 3.93 ratio with 37's and it sucks. ill be going with 4.88 gears when income tax rolls around. thats also the largest gear ratio that the chrysler 9.25 axle can take
Most Off Road edition trucks come with 4:10 gears. Your at the limit or past already of what the drive train can handle. The taller you go with the tire's, the more your going to destroy the tranny for one. Not to mention, it's going to be a dog as far as power goes.
concur

I'd recommend 4.88 as well. No difference in price from 4.1, 4.56, and 4.88. Also agree that 4.88 is lowest available for C9.25 axle.
With 37" tires on that D44....glad its you and not me. However....Dodge did slightly beef up the D44 on the O/R edition.
