I really rednecked mine, looks nothing like the ones in the DIY haha. I probably cut 1.5-2 inches off, almost flush with the runners. I only had cut wheels to work with, so like 85% of my middle plate is gone and it looks like something took a bite out of the plate. But hey, it made a difference haha.

The previous owner of the truck had a decent exhaust on it. He used the stock manifolds, but got an aftermarket y pipe straight back then y'd off again into duals. My neighbors and parents complained about the noise, so I threw on a Thrush Welded dual pipe muffler on and it quieted it down some.

From a dead stop (the tires hook up pretty good after a quick squeal) it isn't incredible, but better than stock i would say. If I stomp on it from about 25-35 it really gets up and goes from stock.

I can't wait for my 2.02's and 4.56's haha....

EDIT: No cat either... O2's are in the pipe

Pretty good setup man. I can't wait to get some of those minor mods for my truck.

You're a better man then me by putting a quiter exhaust on. Super 40s aren't loud enough me. Lol

This is the last one I modified for a friend of mine. Cut the runners short as possible and tapered the runner intake ports to a sharp edge. Shortening the runners is only part of the kegger mod IMHO. Don't forget to gasket port the runners and smooth out the fuel injector ports.

Wish I had a closer pic of the runner ports but I don't so maybe you can get the idea of what I talking about in this one. If you'll notice the gasket marks on the intake where it matches up with the heads as to how much smaller the opening to the runner is as compared to the port on the head. Using the gasket marks as a guide, you open up the port on the intake to match the opening in the head. You can also see how screwed up and squared off the injector port are on the stock head.

You have to remember that a square edge inside an intake causes air turbulence and interferes with air flow. Eliminate all the square edges and you increase air flow.

Ok I have seen and heard of this, just not the term you used to describe. Thanks.

Yeah, usually referred to as "Gasket Matching", or, "Port matching". Really a good idea. Smoother flow means MORE flow, means MORE power.

Port matching was what I heard it called. I would agree with doing it. Only makes sense, It seems like it would be pointless to do the kegger without it.
