I think in 98 and up, they did away with the center divider altogether, didn't they? (and no EGR either....)

That is correct. No EGR and No divider. If i had a lot of time to do the actual swap, I would mod the one on the truck. DD and cant be down for more than a few days.

Have someone who can weld aluminum weld the EGR hole shut.

Problem solved.

Larger plenum volume for the runners to draw air from. Not an issue for you M1 guys.... or Air Gap either for that matter. You folks have shorter runners in any event.

Nothing, The gain's are seen from fixing the blown gasket, IMO. LOL

(and other supporting mod's that people usually do at the same time) I've yet to see some one do "just the keg mod" and rave about it.

I think I would just mod (cut) the runners and leave the divider in there. Would it not have more of an air charge to it by leaving the divider in than just having a mass of air to pull from?

Interesting thought. It would also make my task way easier.

Think of it like this, why would dodge wise up and delete the center divide in '98 if it's not gonna net some gain for your rig in one way or another? It just creates a greater "pool of air" on standby for your engine.

Are you sure they wised up or was it just another attempt to cover up/ fix the plenum issues, was this not also the time they started doing the death flash?

Edit; If you have standing air in the intake its going to get hot and thats a loss in hp
