Default Kegger mod question, and yes I searched around for this one!

So I was given an EGR type intake manifold from a very generous person. It has what I believe is an EGR tube or something else on the center divider. My truck being a 98 does not have EGR.

Can I still use this intake? What are my options with it if so?

I was thinking on cutting out most of the center divider and leaving the EGR port/tube/thingy intact and make sure its all plugged up.

Has anyone encountered this issue before?

Yep. Just slice out the whole thing, and plug the holes for the EGR. There is also probably an extra sensor hole on the coolant crossover by the thermostat housing as well. Just put a pipe plug in that.

Let me just give you a heads up, IT'S GONNA BE A PITA!!! Only because you have one with an EGR valve.

Just to clarify before I start cutting into it. I am to remove the whole center divider and leaving the EGR valve/tube/thingy intact? Or cutting that out as well?

From what I've read on here through the years, your cutting all that out too. Which I'm fairly positive why J415 said, "it's a PITA" .

Well nothing worth doing is easy. Its a project and not a rush one, so I'll be taking my time with it and doing it right.

If time is not an issue, get an intake from a later model without the EGR from your local JY. Less work and less money to spend plugging hole's.
