Default Came across an intake on ebay. Anyone every seen something like this?

I was recently thinking about rebuilding my motor so I was just checking out ebay for some prices and came across this intake. It says it bolts up to the old La's and the new magnum heads so would something like this work with our trucks? I realize its set up for a carb but it says the raised bosses on the runners are for nitrous or injectors. Does that mean that I could just drill those out for the injectors? If that would work this seems like a resonable price seeing as how the hughes plenum kit is around that shipped. Also it would be anything to make an adapter plate so I could still use the stock throttle body. Any advise or insight on this would be great. Thanks

Link to the manifold?

If it has standard carb spacing, I would guess the 4 to 2 bbl adapter for the M1 manifold would bolt right up, and allow use of the stock TB.

That's doesn't sound right because the Magnum engine is based on the old LA design and IIRC there are enough differences that items such as the intake aren't compatible. I'd have to dig out my Magnum engine rebuild book to double check.

Later model A/C compressors will not clear thermostat housing.

That would be a concern for me..... I think on that manifold, the thermo housing is more centered than the kegger, or other manifolds for the magnum motor, so it may not even be possible to mount the a/c compressor. You might be able to get an angled, or offset water neck though..... might be something to question the seller on, or, if there is some other modification that would allow the a/c compressor.

OK would I just be able to get the ac compressor seeing as how my ac doesnt work anyways. And Vw this is exactly why I posted because I've never herd of anything really being used between the la's and the magnums but theres a bunch of different ones on ebay that say they are compatable. Theres 3 at the $168 range and 2 at the $200 range that say they work with the magnum heads.

If you don't care about the a/c.... yeah, that would prolly work. I don't think the port locations changed from the LA, to the Magnum heads, just the intake bolt angle?

Yeah, be wary of so-called compatible intakes for now. I'm fairly certain the bolt pattern is different or, as HeyYou pointed out, the general shape would interfere with the accessories that mount to the front of the engine.

Well like the info on this intake says it has a dual bolt pattern one for the la and one for the magnum. Im getting kind of interested in this cause I've never herd of anyone doing this before.

Is it just me, or does that one have the thermo housing offset some? They don't mention that it isn't compatible with the magnum a/c compressor...... Think I would definitely ask 'em about that..... I do like the dual plane design........
